How to play Deal or No Deal

If you never watched Deal or No Deal during its original run, there’s no need to feel intimidated. Just like blackjack or solitaire, this online version of Deal or No Deal follows a simple set of rules. Host Howie Mandel serves as the mediator between anxious contestants and the elusive, mysterious banker.

Here’s how the game works

A contestant will start with 26 numbered, unopened briefcases. In each case, it is one of 26 amounts, ranging from a single penny to $1,000,000.

At the very beginning, the player will choose one case (your lucky number?) to hold onto for the duration of the game.

From there, you proceed through several rounds of selecting cases, picking six, then five, and so on, to remove them from the game.

In between each round, the mysterious banker will make you a cash offer that you can take to end the game. You can also refuse the banker’s offer and keep opening cases.

When Should You Take the Deal?

The luckier you are when it comes to only getting rid of small amounts and keeping the high-value cases on the field, the better your offers will be after each round. This is when you have to put on your business mogul hat and make a crucial decision—are they trying to rip you off, or should you take the money and run?

If you continue to say no, eliminating all the cases, you can open the first one you picked and take all the money. The “million-dollar question” is, what’s in there? There’s only one way to find out—the value of your new case is the highest. Good luck!

Rest assured, playing Deal or No Deal online with no downloads is just the beginning. We have new games every week!

Challenges and Strategies

Winning Deal or No Deal isn't just about luck—it's about playing smart, staying calm, and timing your decisions just right. Every contestant faces a new question in each round: should you trust your gut, go with the numbers, or accept the offer and walk away with the prize?

The real fun begins when the board gets smaller. As a contestant removes more and more boxes, the pressure builds. Will your box hold the big prize, or are you just a question or two away from disappointment? This version of Deal or No Deal makes every choice count.

A smart contestant will know when to deal and when to keep pushing. Some people trust a lucky number. Others crunch the odds. And some go with the flow and hope for the best. No matter your strategy, the tension ramps up with every click. Are you the type of player who'll go all the way to the end for that million-dollar moment—or will you cash out in time?

Whatever your path, this show is a test of nerve, logic, and a little bit of luck. Try your hand at outsmarting the banker's offer, beat the odds, and maybe—maybe—win big.
